DESCRIPTION:Advocacy is critical to the field of early childhood and is one of TXAEYC’s top priorities. As early childhood professionals\, your voices and stories are needed in the conversation. TXAEYC’s goal is to provide you with the knowledge\, support\, and resources to be an advocate. \nAdvocacy Bootcamp is a 6-week long training being held by TXAEYC staff. Each session will be one hour in length\, and will cover topics such as: \n\nWhat is advocacy\, and what does it look like?\nOverview of the Texas Legislature\nHow can I begin to advocate?\n\nThe sessions will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the following dates: \nJanuary 17\, 2024 \nJanuary 24\, 2024 \nJanuary 31\, 2024 \nFebruary 7\, 2024 \nFebruary 14\, 2024 \nFebruary 21\, 2024 \nThe cost for this training is $30 for TXAEYC members\, and $50 for non-members. There will be interactive review of developing learning objectives and how training content should relate. Participants will discover various modalities to present activities and share their own knowledge\, experience and expertise. Participants will discuss and identify methodologies and techniques for effective training presentations. \nFor Intermediate/Advanced participants who are seeking to renew their trainer certification\, we’ll embark further on the adventure into incorporating relevant adult learning principles and how a trainer can add additional strategies in their design and delivery of training content. These sessions will enable the trainer to explore additional information and activities to effectively share with their participants. We strive to inform\, educate\, support\, and advocate for quality early care and education through the process of NAEYC Accreditation. The Accreditation Network is open to all who are interested in improving the quality of their programs! Contact the Accreditation Network Chair\, Shannon Saldana at accreditation@austinchapter-txaeyc.org. \nMonthly Meetings 12:30-2:30 pm. Meetings will be virtual with the exception of the November meeting. \nMeeting invitations will be sent out the Friday before the meeting. SUMMARY:Earn your Director Credential with  ﻿TXAEYC & Shade Tree Learning
DESCRIPTION:The course is recognized by Texas Health & Human Services Commission-Child Care Licensing. Once completed\, you will receive a training certificate for 50 hours (25 hours of Child Development and 25 hours of Business Management) and a Director’s Credential. This credential can be used as the education portion of your application with Child Care Regulations to become a director in the State of Texas. \nThis training is provided by Rhonda Crabbs of Shade Tree Learning in partnership with TXAEYC. With over 30 years of experience\, Rhonda has taught in public schools\, ran an in-home program\, and owns an early childhood program. She has been a child care consultant and trainer in the State of Texas since 2007 and is an adjunct college professor.  \nTo participate in the class\, you must be at least 21 years of age\, have a high school diploma or GED\, and have at least two years of experience in a licensed child care program. \nSpace is limited to 16 attendees! \nCost is $625. \nRegister HERE.

DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in achieving NAEYC Accreditation? \nWe have the training for you! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTXAEYC is launching a two-day NAEYC Accreditation Bootcamp which will guide early learning program leaders through understanding the accreditation standards and process. This new offering will support early learning programs across the state in increasing their quality so more young children have access to quality programs!\nParticipants will leave with action steps to jumpstart their accreditation success.
