Militza Mezquita is a transformational nonprofit executive and education leader with more than 15 years of experience driving large-scale impact across early childhood systems, disaster recovery, and community-based programs. She currently serves as the Senior Director (State Director) of Texas Programs at Save the Children, where she leads a $10M statewide portfolio, overseeing strategic growth, financial turnaround, and cross-sector partnerships that expand access to literacy, early education, and family support services.

Militza’s leadership background includes spearheading the largest early childhood disaster recovery effort in U.S. history, developing the federal government’s first Early Education Disaster Playbook, and managing funding portfolios exceeding $75M throughout her career. She has served as a policy advisor, coalition builder, and national thought leader, frequently representing her work through media, keynotes, and national convenings.

An expert in systems-building, governance, and strategic planning, Militza brings deep experience in organizational growth, fiscal oversight, and equitable program design. She is seeking board service to strengthen community-centered leadership, expand opportunities for children and families, and support mission-driven organizations in scaling sustainable, high-impact solutions.
