What is WOYC?

Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration of young children, their families, and the early childhood programs and professionals who provide education and support each day. The purpose of WOYC is to highlight all of the great work being done, as well as the needs of the children, families, and educators.

Week of the Young Child is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), with celebrations organized by state affiliates like TXAEYC, as well as local programs and community organizations.

Programs, people, and organizations celebrate WOYC in a wide variety of ways! This can include classroom activities, activities with families, city-wide events like parades, or even proclamations from local officials!

For even more information on Week of the Young Child, visit NAEYC’s WOYC website.
