Special Events

These gatherings are where the conference comes alive. Ideas go deeper at the Public Policy Luncheon. Recognition takes center stage at the President’s Reception and Awards. You’ll feel the grass under your feet on the OLE Tour, and challenge how you think about learning during the Training of Trainers session. These are the moments that bring our community together and make the weekend more than memorable. If an event has an additional fee, you can add it during registration or update your schedule later. Just don’t wait—space is limited.

Thursday, November 6

Explore the roots of Texas’s Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS), including core competencies and foundational theories like Adult Learning Theory and Learning Styles. This highly interactive session introduces how evolving research is reshaping our understanding of how adults learn and how trainers deliver content. Participants will identify their own learning style and begin to reflect on how personal preferences influence their training approach.
Wrap up your first day with a relaxed evening of connection and conversation. Grab a drink, mingle with fellow attendees, and get to know our exhibitors in a fun, informal setting.

Friday, November 7

Join a panel of leading early childhood experts to explore where early childhood education is heading—and what promising practices Texas can leverage to move the field forward.
Building on Thursday’s session, Day 2 focuses on how training delivery and methodology shape the way adult learners take in and apply new information. Learn to distinguish characteristics of effective trainers, adapt to modern learning styles, and apply strategies that deepen engagement. TECPDS-registered trainers will earn enough clock hours to renew their certification.
Celebrate the strength and spirit of the TXAEYC community at this special Friday night event. Enjoy music, dancing, and light refreshments as we honor outstanding leaders and programs in early childhood education. With a live DJ and a cash bar, it’s an evening of connection, recognition, and celebration you won’t want to miss.

Saturday, November 8

Celebrate Texas early learning programs that have earned NAEYC Accreditation. This special brunch honors their commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Kim Hodge from NAEYC will speak about the latest updates, supports, and strategies for achieving and maintaining accreditation.

*Registration is required. Special events can be added during your initial conference registration or by modifying your registration at a later time.
