Governing Board Members

Texas Association for the Education of the Young Children is a professional organization with a diverse and growing membership, focused on celebrating, educating, and advocating for young children, their families, and the early childhood profession. At TXAEYC, we achieve our mission through a variety of programs, local chapters, and state-level activities. But we could not do any of this work without our Governing Board! 

The TXAEYC Governing Board is composed of 13 elected and appointed individuals who provide oversight and leadership of the organization. 

TXAEYC is governed by the Governing Board which is composed of 13 elected and appointed individuals who provide oversight and leadership of the organization. All members of the Governing Board are members of TXAEYC.  

About the TXAEYC Governing Board 

The TXAEYC Governing Board is responsible for setting the vision and strategic goals of the organization as well as ensuring proper governance of the organization and sound financial management of the organization’s resources. The Board meets virtually and in-person several times a year to review financial reports, monitor implementation of the strategic plan, set policies for the organization, and ensure the organization is meeting the needs of members and the early childhood field.  

All travel related to board meetings and activities are covered by TXAEYC. Meetings are set based on the availability board members and often take place in evenings and on weekends.
